About this Speaker

Ronan Gallagher is a Trainer and Speaker in the areas of Negotiation, Communication and Emotional Intelligence. He has delivered and designed executive, masters and diploma courses in negotiation, communication, and emotional intelligence, working with Ireland’s largest training providers and corporates, since 2008.


Ronan started his professional life as a Barrister-at-Law in Dublin, Ireland in 2006. He went on to work internationally in Financial Services Law, in contentious and non-contentious multi-jurisdictional corporate matters. Ronan left legal practice at the end of 2019, to focus on corporate and organisational training and speaking.


Ronan’s first book ‘Stop Being Your Self’ will be self-published as an E-book by the end of July 2021. Stop Being Your Self presents the 9 Enneagram types in 9 life stories. The life stories start with the type’s childhood and go through to their adult life. The life stories are narrated in two voices- the first person and the voice of the subconscious mind. Having the two voices tell the life story of the type, renders the subtle connection between unconscious motivations and behaviours clear and accessible- it is very practical and makes typing yourself easy.


The subconscious voice is a compassionate, empathetic voice that aims to present the imbalanced aspects to our personalities in way that will remove self-loathing, guilt, and shame. No matter what stage of our personal development we are at, we need to be kind to ourselves and Stop Being Your Self will allow you to take that journey of change without the guilt and resistance.


At the end of each type and chapter, there is a tailored self help guide that has 4 sections:

·      Behavioural traits that they should be proud of.

·      Behavioural traits that they should be aware of.

·      Mindfulness exercises to aid with personal growth.

·      Practical steps to take for personal growth.


Ronan’s second book ‘Stop Being Your Self- in Negotiations’ will be published around December 2021. It is a sequel to his first book and focuses on the enneagram and negotiation. It is in the same format, except for part one of the book will focus on Negotiation Theory and Skills, including chapters on: the 7 Elements of Negotiation; Communication, Group Negotiations, Gender, Culture and Ethics in negotiation.


Part two contains the negotiation life stories of the 9 types. The life stories will focus on the negotiation experiences of the 9 types. It will be 9 case studies showcasing the negotiation behaviours of the types and the unconscious motivations that lie behind them. The case studies of the types will demystify your interactions with even the most troublesome of negotiators!


Like Ronan’s first book, there is a self-help section at the end of each life story/ type. It has 4 sections:

·      The negotiation behaviours of the type.

·      Negotiation emotional triggers of the type.

·      Communication style of the type.

·      Practical advice for improving negotiation performance for the type.
